EV valuation

Sell Your Electric Car in Ireland

We buy suitable electric cars from everyday hatchbacks to high-value SUVs. Send the registration and a few details for a valuation reviewed by Eoghan.

The exact electric model makes a difference

We consider Tesla, Volkswagen, Hyundai, Kia, BMW and other electric makes under our normal buying criteria. Tell us the version if you know it, including the battery or range variant and whether it is two-wheel or all-wheel drive.

A model badge and registration year are a starting point. Equipment, model updates, mileage and condition all help us compare your car with the right vehicles in the Irish market. We assess plug-in hybrids too, as a separate vehicle type.

What to include in your EV valuation request

Current mileage, service or repair records, the number of keys or key cards and a description of the condition are enough to begin. Mention charging faults, battery warnings or outstanding repairs. If you already have a battery-health report or warranty information, tell us; neither is required to submit the first enquiry.

Photos of the exterior, cabin and any damage are useful. You do not need to arrange a battery test or pay for detailing before asking for a price.

  • Exact version or trim, if known
  • Current mileage and any charging or battery warnings
  • Available keys, key cards and charging cables
  • Condition, repair history and optional photographs

An offer to buy your EV, subject to inspection

Eoghan reviews most valuations and responds within one business day, Monday to Saturday. Offers are valid for three days and depend on the car matching its description and passing our inspection and history checks.

Our usual focus is 2013 onwards and below 160,000 km. Older classic, unusual or high-value vehicles can be considered individually. Irish-registered imports and cars with outstanding finance can be considered. We do not buy insurance write-offs, including repaired Category N or Category S vehicles.

Prepare the car and its digital access for handover

Have the charging cables and keys you are including in the sale ready for inspection. Once the sale and payment are confirmed, remove your personal information and complete the manufacturer’s ownership or account-transfer process where applicable. You do not need to share an account password with us.

We arrange the vehicle ownership transfer through Motortrans. A manufacturer app transfer is a separate step, so it is worth checking the instructions for your particular vehicle before the appointment.

Common questions

Do I need a battery-health certificate to get an offer?

No. Send one if you already have it, but a paid test is not required for the first valuation request. Disclose any battery or charging issues you know about.

Can I sell a financed electric car?

Yes, if the vehicle suits and the finance can be settled through an agreed process. We verify the settlement, pay the finance provider directly and transfer any remaining balance to you.

Useful next steps

Where inspection happens

We can view your car at your home, workplace or another convenient location anywhere in Dublin, by appointment. Viewings outside Dublin may be possible by agreement. You can also come to us in Skerries or Rathfarnham by appointment. Collection is free throughout Leinster after the purchase is agreed. Tell us about any NCT or safety issues before arranging to bring the vehicle.
